It’s hard to pretend you are normal, especially after a cancer diagnosis. Life becomes appointments, sad looks and head tilts from everyone, confusion. All I became to everyone was my cancer, or at least that’s how it felt. Somedays I would just stare at a wall all day after treatment, not knowing how to be ME again. Then I went back to what’s always been there for me my whole life. Photography. I dove head first into creating enough to feel sane. I entered as many galleries as I could find. If I wasn’t at the hospital, I was creating or surrounding myself with creativity. Even a butterfly must be reborn.
